Message from the Lord Mayor and Chief Executive Officer
YourDarwin is a key platform for City of Darwin to deliver on its promise to be an open and transparent organisation.
YourDarwin is an accessible platform for the community to access information on City of Darwin’s finances, performance and data collection. Facts and figures that were previously captured in annual and council agendas and annual reports are now easy to access and understand on this web platform.
We encourage you to explore this platform and discover more about what goes on at City of Darwin. There is data from every section of the organisation. YourDarwin can show you the number of dogs that are registered in the municipality; the amount awarded in tenders to local businesses; how much your Elected Members receive in allowances; the number of trees planted by council since Cyclone Marcus….and so much more.
We began this journey in 2019 with the Switching on Darwin project and we are excited to now be linking our data to our Strategic Plan 2030: City for People. City of Colour.
As well as being committed to transparency we are equally committed to following our strong privacy principles to ensure that the information available publicly on this platform does not breach the privacy rights of individuals.
Transparency is an essential part of good governance and decision-making, and YourDarwin shows our commitment to honest and open government for the people of Darwin.
